ALMANDITE

Overview: Almandite is the most common of the garnets and is usually the garnet found in garnet schists. Although only a small amount of this mineral is fit for gem use, it is nevertheless a popular gem. It is the most widely used Garnet in the gem trade. More gems are faceted from Almandite than any other type of Garnet.Well formed Almandite crystals are very popular among mineral collectors. Almandite has a brilliant luster, but its transparency is frequently marred, even in very clear stones, by excessive depth of color.

AMAZONITE

Overview: Amazonite is a mostly opaque stone textured with pale milky-white cloudiness or streaking ranging from light green to greenish blue to deep green/blue. The sparkle from the softer Amazonite allows you to wear this piece with just about everything.

AMBER

Overview : Amber is one of the organic gemstones, being the time-hardened fossilized resin of pine trees, the now extinct Pinus Succinifera, and others. As such it varies from about 20 to 60 million years old. It is light and warm to the touch, and readily produces static electricity when rubbed. Well preserved specimens of extinct insects and plant material, have been found in amber.

AMETHYST

Overview : Amethyst is a form of quartz, with a silicon dioxide composition . The primary ingredient is sand. The majority of quartz samples are clear, but amethyst derives it's beautiful purple appearance due to small amounts of iron impurities in the crystal lattice.

Overview: Ametrine is a combination of Amethyst and Citrine, which are both a variety of quartz. AMMONITE

Overview: Ammonites were cephalopods (predatory marine mollusks) similar to the modern Squid, Octopus and chambered Nautilus. Ammonite plays a key role in the traditional culture and magicof many tribals. Ammonites displaying one or more distinct colors or play of colors are graded A, while in B grades, colors are less distinct or they may show directional color.

ANDALUSITE

Overview: Andalusite is named after Andalusia, the province of Spain where it was first discovered. Andalusite is a mineral, aluminum silicate, usually found in orthorhombic crystals of various colors.A unique variety of Andalusite is called "chiastolite". Andalusite is also pleochroic i.e. it shows different colors in different directions.
