1. Wax knife blade of serrated knife with old candle; cut a small slice from bottom of 6" foam ball to flatten slightly. Press and twist 2-1/2" foam ball on center
top of 6" ball until snug and then glue.
1. Cut slice from large end of 6" egg so it will stand; cut slice on an angle from small end of egg. Use serrated knife to cut foam; wax knife blade first with an
old candle for easier, smoother cuts. Cut small slice from large end of 3" egg, which will be the head. Glue two eggs together, positioning head so it tilts slightly
backward (see Figure 1). Using skewer or other pointed tool, poke a hole in center bottom of body.
1. Join 4" foam ball to 6" ball by applying glue to half of wooden dowel. Insert dowel into 4" ball, letting unglued portion protrude. Apply glue to remainder of
dowel and then insert it into 6" foam ball. Squeeze additional glue between balls to strengthen bond, forming penguin head and body. Allow to dry.
1. Wax knife blade with an old candle for easier cutting. Cut small slice from top and bottom of 5" and 6" balls. Cut small slice from bottom of 4" ball.
Assemble snowman, gluing generously. Brush off crumbs and smooth surface of snowman using back of soupspoon. Brush on coat of gesso; let dry and sand
lightly. Repeat with second coat.
1. Wax serrated knife blade for easier, smoother cuts. Cut Santa face from foam sheet; cut foam balls in half. Glue 1" half ball on face for nose and the two, 2"
halves for cheeks.
1. Wax serrated knife with a candle stub or paraffin. Cut a small slice from top and bottom of 4" and 5" foam balls to flatten slightly. Cut a small slice from
bottom only of 3" ball. Hot glue foam balls together in graduated sizes to form snowman (see photo).
