High Rise Birdhouse

1. Using a serrated knife, cut (2) 5" x 30" rectangles from one sheet of STYROFOAM for sides of birdhouse. Using a second sheet, cut (1) 10" x 11" piece for the base, (1) 10 1/2" x 6" piece for one side of the roof, and (1) 10 1/2" x 5" piece for second side of roof. Cut (2) 6" x 33" rectangles from third sheet of STYROFOAM; cut roof peaks as shown (see Diagram A).

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 5 cups lightly boiling water
Mix flour into one cup water until mixture is thin and runny, stir into boiling water. Gently boil and stir for 3 minutes. Cool before using. (Use with newspaper/newsprint strips for Paper mache).
