In the same way that finishes are meant to protect and beautify wood, waxes and polishes are meant to protect and beautify
finishes. Although neither wax nor polish offers a high degree of protection, wax is the better of the two; it's a little harder to
apply but offers more protection and needs to be applied only about once a year. Polish offers a quick, easy way to liven up a
relatively dull-looking finish. Don't use polishes that contain silicones, as they're incompatible with most finishes and will
